Effects
CBD oil also known as Cannabidiol oil or Hemp oil is gaining its popularity as more and more states in the US are legalizing medical marijuana. It is a non-intoxicating chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. While tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana causes the euphoric effect, CBD derived from Hemp does not. Some CBD oil may contain up to the legal threshold and undetectable amount of 0.3% THC.
Our body produces its own endogenous cannabinoids which then binds with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in our central nervous system. This complex biological system is known as the endocannabinoid system and it affects certain aspects of our health. From recent research, it is found that cannabinoids from external resources such as CBD (Cannabidiol) also attaches to receptors in our body’s endocannabinoid system. Endocannabinoids have a role in regulating health functions like mood, sleep, memory as well as metabolic processes like energy balance.
Cannabidiol oil contains CBD in a carrier oil, and sometimes with other active compounds. Some popular forms of CBD oil are oral sprays, capsules and tinctures. There is also an array of CBD skin care products, like creams, lotions, soaps and more, which can be applied directly to the skin. Depending on which CBD product you are using, the concentration may vary.
Side Effects
Side effects of taking CBD oil is very rare and only occur in some extreme cases. Currently, there are no documented cases of toxicity from ingesting the oil. It is important to be aware in certain cases if the CBD oil contains the 0.3% of THC or not. While it is undetectable and within the legal threshold, there are some instances where this type of CBD product is not the best choice. However, there are CBD oil options that are THC free. If you are concerned with how CBD may affect you or interact with any medications you may be taking, it is important to consult with your physician.

Different skin conditions, such as eczema, have been shown to improve after treatment with hemp oil. CBD oil can adjust the output of oils in the skin and hair and inhibit skin cells’ lipid production, making it effective for preventing acne.
The CBD oil controls cell proliferation and differentiation, meaning it can be used in treatment efforts for things like allergies.
